2010 to 2022 - Renovations and Innovations

In 2015, assisted by a NSW Government Community Building Partnership Grant the very successful On-Line Booking System and Integrated Court Access System was introduced. This has enabled easy on-line access to courts by members and the public alike.

2017 saw the renovation of the Ladies’ Change-room, followed by the renovation of the Men’s Change-room in 2018. In 2019 a third bid for lights on Courts 1 and 2 was unsuccessful.

In 2020 during the first COVID-19 lockdown we experienced a major problem with cockatoos ripping up sections of Courts 1, 2 and 3, especially baselines. Miscellaneous solutions were tried and eventually the birds moved on. In 2021 replacements and renovation of all fencing and gates was completed, assisted by a NSW Government Local Sport Program Grant.

We were fortunate that tennis was possible during many of the months of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are very appreciative of all who helped to keep the courts open by adhering to the social distancing protocols required by the NSW Government and Lane Cove Council.

Unfortunately, our long planned centenary celebrations organised for 9 October 2021 had to be cancelled due to the COVID lockdown. We produced a booklet of our history to honour this important milestone and set up an historical display in the clubhouse.

In early 2022 we completed the resurfacing of all 5 courts with the assistance of a NSW ATP Cup Legacy Fund Grant. Our courts and facilities are in top condition, a credit to our hard working volunteer committee, and a valuable asset to our community.

The Club has a proud record of a century of voluntary commitment to the community. Generations have followed the example of their forebears and much has been accomplished. We look forward to the next century of this great game in our community.
